In an unprecedented move, Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe’ will enjoy a theatrical and digital release in India on the same day, May 13th. But in the UAE, the film will only appear in local cinemas. Its producers made the announcement on April 21, a day before the release of the new trailer, claiming that its fans in India have the option to buy tickets in the cinemas or to pay online at Zee. According to reports, the decision to make a hybrid release was made after several meetings discussing the current COVID-19 reality in India and the Khan army supporters pleading for a theatrical release. When Gulf News reached its officials in the Middle East at Sea, they insisted that the UAE would enjoy a theatrical release and not follow the release pattern for ‘Radhe’ in India.
Khan is one of Bollywood’s biggest box office hits, and his films are expected to bring back the fall in cinemas, reviving the scene in India, which was hit during the pandemic. But the increase in COVID-19 cases there has led to the closure of cinemas, with renewed restrictions. Bolan Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “#Radhe producers have opted for an international version of their film. It will appear together on Zee & DTH networks and cinemas. Hollywood biggies like WonderWoman, Godzilla had a release like this. Help audiences make the right choice. ” Khan’s ‘Radhe’ is one of the most anticipated films of 2021. The film also plays Disha Patani and sees Khan in his all-conquering hero avatar.
