Dubai: Iker Casillas, the Spanish World Cup goalkeeper and hero of Real Madrid, made the other guys do the hard work in gloves on Friday, as he was a guest of honor at a boxing event in Dubai on Friday. Casillas, who won the 2010 World Cup with Spain, as well as the Euros for 2008 and 2012, plus countless titles with Real, was at the Conrad Hotel to watch the heavyweight exhibition match between Thor Bjornsson and Simon Vallily in Dubai .
The now retired goalkeeper legend was accompanied by compatriot Michel Salgados and is in Dubai to open his own academy here as a center for the development of goalkeepers in the UAE and the region. “It’s great to be here,” he told Gulf News. “I relax and have a wonderful time in this wonderful city.”
